Finding your Passion

Wow it’s been a while!

What can I say, it’s been a journey. The journey hasn’t always been smooth, but in all honesty the smooth journeys aren’t always the ones you learn from and on a positive note, I’m still standing!

So recently I’ve decided to take a step back. From what? You may be asking.

A step back from the influences that make me think I need to do or be something other than, who I am.

Many may agree, sometimes you go through a season where everything appears confusing. Everything is out of place and there seems to be no stability in any area of your life. Often, to others this may however be the complete opposite to what they see.

To others ,you have it all.

To others you are confident, you have everything together and your life looks great. Some often make the mistake of functioning on the preconceived perceptions of others and live to uphold them, which in turn can completely destabilise our purpose.

What is your perception of yourself? Who are you? These are the questions I’ve put to myself this month.

I was in confusion valley guys and the only way I’m gradually finding my my way out is through prayer and focus.

My confusion valley consist of the below and I’m sure many of you can relate.

·         Doing things that excite others but not myself

·         Working on someone else passion rather than my own

·         Putting my hand to do things by not succeeding

·         Failing to feel satisfied

An example of the above would be me trying to get into fashion influencing.

We all know fashion influencing is a huge thing nowadays. So I thought, let me get into that. I love fashion, I love make up, beauty. Why not? It’s works for others, so why won’t it work for me. Let me make this my passion.

Has it lasted? Am I passionate about it? No.  I love fashion, make up, beauty but I only use it as a way to express myself, not as a way to influence others.

This is called learning to refocus. Sometimes what you like isn’t your true passion.

Don’t mistake your like, for a passion.

Another mistake I made was trying to make something my passion. A passion shouldn’t be forced upon you. It’s just there. Rather than trying to make something you passion, try to find your passion.

I know, I know, it is easier said than done, trust me I’m still trying to figure it out, but we can do this together guys.

If you’ve found your passion, let me know below in comments. How do you plan on working towards it?

With love,

Mrs K
