Keep That Mouth Shut!

Keep that mouth shut!

I actually have to say this to my self at times- scrap that– most of the time.

I sometimes am at fret of loosing amazing opportunities because the every so popular big mouth syndrome (not a real illness by the way!) steps in. To be honest, I probably have lost opportunities because I either spoke too soon or just simply spoke!

We sometimes feel like everything needs to be said. However, this is where the word wisdom comes into play.

People say you become wise with age. Yes that is true, but let’s not forget that wisdom can also be found in our Heavenly Father. A daily prayer I make is for guidance and wisdom because, gurllllll…. my mouth has a mind of its own at times.

Can I be honest ?! Yes? Ok.

I at times get joy from talking and sharing it all. (The joys and stresses of life). I am tortured if I don’t share. I almost feel a sense of relief. But, the urge, we have to blurt it all out, can be related to a form of addiction.

Addiction – is a condition that results when a person ingests a substance or engages in an activity that can be pleasurable but the continuation of which becomes compulsive and interferes with ordinary responsibilities and concerns.

Doesn’t sound great does it?

Just like a drug addiction, talking too much can also cause harm. It can ruin opportunities, not allow you to portray your true self, make you, at times, loose friends and lead you down the wrong path.

We need to learn control people, wisdom and most importantly, start praying for guidance, asking God to break the addiction of talking too much!

I’ve spoken a lot about being in control and this definitely remains prominate in this post. We need to practice self control.

Don’t let that big mouth run the show!

With love
